SAN DIEGO – Now is a great time to become a San Diego sports fan! Currently, the city has three professional sports teams close to the regular season schedule, and all three teams will play in their league playoffs.

San Diego Padres
They are back! The last time the Padres made the playoffs after 162 games was in 2006!
The team’s schedule has been finalized and they will travel to New York to face the Mets in a three-game series on Friday, October 7 at 5 p.m. PST. The team won the Mets 4-2 in the 2022 season series.
In the new playoff format, the Padres will play all three first-round games on the road.

After its first season in San Diego, Wave will host the NWSL quarterfinals at Snapdragon Stadium on October 16th! The team finished with a 10-6-6 record, which placed the team in third place in their division.
The San Diego Wave secured a spot in the quarterfinals against the Orlando Pride last Sunday and are the first and only expansion team in league history to make the playoffs in their inaugural season.
