Chicago Restaurant Week 2023 Helps Promote Women-Owned Businesses

Chicago (WLS) — Chicago Restaurant Week is back! Hundreds of restaurants across the city offer special menus for 17 days.

Vermilion is one of the participating restaurants.This restaurant is famous for its Indian cuisine and Latin cuisine.

“It’s been a tough couple of years, as you know,” says founder Rohini Dey. “It made a dismal January enjoyable.”

They are also the founders of Let’s Talk Womxn, a group of female restaurateurs who have come together to help their businesses survive during the pandemic.

“It was from the heart at the time, with all the debt, we didn’t know the moral of being open,” Day said.

Now, this group has grown. Female-led restaurants collaborate with each other.
